Artist Statement

For nearly 35 years, my practice has explored the relationship between memory, place and change. I work across different mediums, but watercolour remains central to my art. Its fluidity, transparency and unpredictability allow me to capture moments that feel both intimate and fleeting.

My work is rooted in landscapes and ways of life that are gradually disappearing beneath the rapid growth of modern cities. I am drawn to the quiet traces they leave behind: fragments of nature, familiar surroundings and memories that continue to live within us even as the world around them changes.

Through my paintings, I seek to preserve these impressions rather than simply document them. Each work becomes a space where the past and present can coexist, inviting viewers to pause, reconnect and reflect on what progress often leaves behind.
